Overview

Agile methodology, which has been successfully used in software development projects for the last 20 years, is now being applied to engineering projects, and is in fact becoming the new normal in the current pandemic situation which calls for working with remote teams. In today’s complex projects, the new working situation has raised issues like delays in reviews, design changes, errors, poor document control etc, which in turn have induced delays and increased rework.

What has been noted is that engineering projects that run ‘Scrum’ have been able to double their output in the initial ‘Sprints’, and as they continue improving their team work and the product, the gains are sustained. An engineering company where we implemented Agile methodology along with integrated project management gained direct benefits like:

  • 80% less deliverable management time
  • 75% less time in reporting
  • 85% improvement project management efficiency
  • Reduction in review cycle time from 7 days to 1 day
  • 100% quality achievement

This training will help to start your organisations transition journey to Agile.

What you will learn:

  • Practical application of Agile principles in Engineering projects
  • How to sustain Agility with weekly planning, daily stand-up meetings and retrospectives
  • How to leverage integrated information systems for seamless collaboration and tracking using earned

Client

The key points regarding (the) SMART PROJECT system: 1. Excellent Document Management System, where all history is maintained, including letters, faxes, transmittals, specs, drawings, etc. 2. Excellent Earned Value System, where the rule of credit can be chosen in agreement with the client, which makes invoicing very simple. The rule of credit is flexible and can be different from client to client. 3. Excellent Tool for Quality Audit, where auditors can obtain all history and information regarding deliverables and processes, including evidence of IDC, ISC, etc. 4. The only negative point about WRENCH is the time required for processing, such as ISC, where it is a bit slow. This can be improved by a further modification to the system by the vendor. In the final analysis, I don’t know of any available system that can perform better than WRENCH SmartProject.

Bill Adhami

We have found it to be an excellent tool to maintain project documentation integrity, monitor workflows, provide project status in real-time

Romolo Raciti

Thanks to WRENCH we managed 58 projects with just 13 people in project controls. The biggest benefit is: we were able to reduce delays to such an extent that our projects are now ahead of schedule, which is amazing.

“On behalf of TAT team, I take this opportunity to express our appreciation for the excellent work done. You have taken care of all our needs and questions. We were prepared to face obstacles and difficulties in introducing a new Document Control System in our company, and this happened. However you have always been minded to sort problems out and we are happy to emphasize your dedication.”
