Wrench and NICMAR sign MoU, jointly set up AI-enabled digital PMO Lab
Bangalore, India; 16th September 2025: Wrench Solutions, a global leader in AI-assisted Project Management Information Systems (PMIS), has partnered with the NICMAR University, Pune to setup an AI enabled Digital PMO lab aiming at innovations and digital transformation of Construction industry. The lab will leverage Wrench’s proprietary project management information system (PMIS) to upskill engineers studying at NICMAR, preparing them for the future of digital project management.
As capital projects increasingly demand digitally skilled engineers, this initiative aims at to improve the availability of skilled engineers for managing the construction projects utilising the latest technologies on project monitoring and controls . The agreement also fosters collaboration between industry leaders, academicians, and solution providers to accelerate the adoption of AI and other cutting-edge technologies in the construction sector.
Through this partnership, we will work to research the potential of AI and advanced digital solutions and incorporate the findings into new courses that combine inputs from industry experts and academic research, with the goal of preparing the infrastructure and construction industry for their accelerated adoption.

The partnership stemmed from the initiative of Dr. Vijaya Desai, Associate Professor of Information Technology at NICMAR University, Pune who introduced Wrench to enrich her e-business course for MBA Construction Management students. Highlighting the benefits of the collaboration, Dr. Desai said: ‘This partnership will allow us to harness cutting-edge digital technologies in construction and infrastructure projects. I am confident it will lead to better project outcomes while also enhancing the career prospects of our engineering graduates”.
