UCC Holding
Project Details:
UCC Holding, a leading Qatar-based Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) company, selected Wrench SmartProject for its South Pipeline Project in Kazakhstan. The project involved the execution and management of a 1,470 km pipeline, requiring efficient document control, collaboration, and project management throughout the project lifecycle.
Location: Kazakhstan, Astana.
Challenges Faced by UCC:
Document Transmission
Project documents were shared with clients through conventional mailing methods.
Excel spreadsheets were used to track and maintain project reports and document status.
Document Review and Commenting
Document review, vetting, and commenting were carried out in an offline environment.
This resulted in manual coordination, limited visibility into document status, and longer review cycles.
Scope:
The following Wrench SmartProject modules were implemented to streamline engineering document management and project execution:
Folder Structure Management – Established a standardized document folder hierarchy for organized storage and easy retrieval.
Workflow Management – Configured automated workflows to streamline document review, approval, and routing processes.
Document Transmittal – Enabled secure and controlled transmission of project documents to clients and stakeholders.
Email Notifications – Implemented automated email notifications to keep users informed of workflow actions, approvals, and pending tasks.
SSRS Reports (Standard Reports) – Developed standard SSRS reports to provide real-time project insights and support effective decision-making.
Progress Monitoring for Engineering Deliverables – Enabled tracking and monitoring of engineering deliverables to improve visibility, ensure timely completion, and measure project progress.
Benefits:
Centralized Document Management – Organized project documents in a structured repository, enabling quick access and improved document control.
Automated Workflows – Reduced manual intervention by automating document review and approval processes, resulting in faster turnaround times.
Efficient Document Transmittal – Simplified the secure sharing of documents with clients and stakeholders while maintaining complete traceability.
Improved Collaboration – Enabled seamless coordination among project teams through automated workflow routing and email notifications.
Real-Time Project Visibility – Provided accurate project insights through standard SSRS reports, supporting informed decision-making.
Enhanced Progress Tracking – Improved monitoring of engineering deliverables, helping teams identify delays early and keep projects on schedule.
Reduced Manual Effort – Minimized dependency on spreadsheets and manual tracking, improving operational efficiency and data accuracy.
Greater Transparency and Accountability – Maintained complete visibility of document status, approvals, and review history throughout the project lifecycle.
Increased Productivity – Streamlined document management processes, allowing project teams to focus on high-value engineering activities.
