26-11-2014: Essar Projects has successfully deployed WRENCH’s project management technology on their USD 600 million 7.0 MTPA iron ore beneficiation plant in Mauritania, Western North Africa. Project owner, Glencore, UK insisted ESSAR get a system for EPC progress monitoring to ensure smooth project delivery. Glencore also insisted that for the purpose of validation, all invoices raised by ESSAR Projects would have to be forwarded along with the progress reports generated through WRENCH. ESSAR had been using Oracle Primavera for planning, SAP, Documentum for document management and progress monitoring was recorded on multiple spreadsheets, and the new system will seamlessly integrate data from ESSAR’s ERP system and scheduling systems, including Oracle Primavera P6 and Aconex document management system.
“The implementation effort was commendable – the open deliberation, debates between our project team, IT team and the WRENCH team created huge value addition in bringing completeness to the system” said Subbarao, Project Director, ASKAF Project Added Vikram Rao, Head, Project Controls M&M SBU “The system’s integrated approach, visibility and real-time progress-tracking have given our Project Manager an edge in handling large EPC Projects.”
