Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems chooses Wrench SmartProject for Realtime monitoring and control of their recent FGD desulfurization project
28 October 2020, India : Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems (MHPS), a joint venture company between Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and Hitachi, has chosen cloud-based project management information system Wrench SmartProject for monitoring and control of the flue-gas desulfurization project.
SmartProject will help MHPS plan, monitor, and manage engineering deliverables, collaborate with project stakeholders and vendors, monitor progress, and handle all the procurement and construction deliverables. MHPS won the order from India’s public sector utility NTPC (earlier known as National Thermal Power Corporation) Limited. The order comprises additional installations of flue-gas desulfurization (FGD) systems in the Mouda-II and Rihand-II&III coal-fired power plants and aims to use cutting-edge FGD systems to reduce air pollutants in India. The projects are scheduled for completion in 2021 and 2022 respectively.
MHPS had been using multiple internal systems to monitor their projects, but in the absence of a single integrated system had been facing numerous challenges in managing project data, monitoring the deliverables and enforcing processes, especially in their larger fast-track projects. After a rigorous evaluation, MHPS decided to go with SmartProject, as it is a completely integrated cloud-based project monitoring and control system which addresses the entire EPC project process.
Said (Varghese Daniel, CEO, Wrench Solution), “We are delighted that MHPS chose SmartProject. We believe it will be very effective as a real-time monitoring system to help MHPS manage the internal engineering team and engineering vendors, and to interface with the suppliers of various equipment, as well as tracking progress in real time on the site and ensuring implementation of all required quality and compliance procedures.”.
SmartProject will be rolled out in less than 30 days, followed by training to all the vendors involved on the project, so that everybody can start working on the same shared platform in a very short time.
