BGR executes turnkey contracts to supply the Balance of Plant (“BOP”) Equipment, Services and Civil works for Power Generation projects, in which it supplies from a single source, the Balance of the plant. The company had a home-grown project document management system which stored and archived all the project documents, as well as an extensive SAP implementation to ensure good control on the commercial aspects of their projects. After evaluating their existing IT framework, the company’s management and corporate planning department realized the need for a dedicated system to monitor and track the projects, so that they could prevent delays and ensure successful completion. They started looking for a new system to ensure control on the project management and monitoring aspect as well as document management, and after an intensive evaluation, chose SMARTPROJECT for its unique integrated approach that ties together project control, quality, collaboration, and data management capabilities. The SMARTPROJECT platform will be rolled out across the organisation within 12 weeks.
